| HIST | of Paxville, South Carolina CALBERT WESLEY CONYERS Posted Tuesday, November 1, 2022 6:00 am PAXVILLE - Calbert Wesley Conyers, 84, widower of Evelyn McElveen Conyers, died on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at his daughter's home in Wedgefield. Born on Sept. 24, 1938, in Inman, he was a son of the late John Wesley Conyers and Freeda Marie Lee Conyers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to watch wrestling, eating out with his friend, John Brown, and he never met a stranger. He was a Christian. He is survived by three children, Susan C. Barwick (Philip) of Dalzell, Sandra C. Parker (Allen) of Wedgefield and Daniel Wesley Conyers (Starlene Mitchell) of Goose Creek; six grandchildren, Shannon (Samuel), Angel, Jody, Michael (Ericka), Crissy and Allison (Kyle); 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Levon Conyers (Russell Belle) of Sumter; several nieces and nephews; best friend, John Brown of Paxville; and his beloved dog, Molly. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Everett Conyers; and siblings, Virgil, Pauline, Geneva, Robert and Grady. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Paxville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Holliday, Michael Lowder, Jody Hansen, Allen Parker, Philip Barwick, Eddie Scott, Bill Ardis and John Brown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Sandra C. Parker, 1320 Cricket Drive, Wedgefield.
