Services will be announced by Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter. It appears that Hattie Rae died on 4 Mar and her husband died suddenly on 9 Mar. I think they have rescheduled her funeral so she and her husband can have their funerals at the same time. It might be in tomorrow’s paper. jkh MILTON RAY HODGE Posted Saturday, March 12, 2022 6:00 am Milton Ray Hodge, 69, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, following the death of his wife and sweetheart, Hattie Rae Hodge, on Friday, March 4, 2022. Born at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was a son of the late Mary Agnes Geddings Kimrey. Mr. Hodge was a graduate of Furman High School, where he lettered in football and was affectionately known as "Razor." Following high school, he graduated from North Greenville Junior College and the University of South Carolina. He retired after 41 years as a successful supervisor from Campbell Soup Co., Gold Kist and Pilgrim's Pride. Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Broach and Diane LeBleu (Tom), both of Sumter; a niece, Ella Marie Clark (Tommy); two nephews, Jonathan LeBleu and Preston LeBleu; and two greatnieces, Katie Clark and Maddie Clark. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dale Hodge, and his dearly loved canine companion, Brutus. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Donna Green, the Rev. Tony Lupton and George Geddings officiating. Pallbearers will be Rusty Evans, Tommy Clark, Chris Harris, Will Therrell, Lee Brewer and Jonathan LeBleu. Honorary pallbearers will be Preston LeBleu and Tom LeBleu. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and following the service at the home of his sister, 170 Lakewood Drive.
