HALLMAN Posted Saturday, April 25, 2015 6:00 am Graveside services for Lorene Oswald Hallman, 87, formerly of Leesville, will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Ridge Crest Memorial Park with the Rev. Charles Clanton officiating. Viewing will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday in the Narthex at First Baptist Church of Sumter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sumter, 107 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150 or Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Mrs. Hallman passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015. Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Richard and Mary Elizabeth Schenk Holmes. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg and attended First Baptist Church of Sumter, where she volunteered at the Crisis Closet. She also worked with Volunteer Sumter. Mrs. Hallman owned and operated the Leesville Thrift Shop for more than 20 years. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy O. (Bob) Harris and Vicky O. Dean; sister, Sara (Ray) Fox; grandchildren, Brett Dean, Tyler (Arianna) Dean, Stephanie (Aaron) Libby and Julie (Brian) Clark; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands, John Fletcher Oswald and Arden Hallman Sr.; son-in-law, Rick Dean; sisters, Helen, Ethel, Irva Lee and Lasca; and brother, Charles. [1] | |
