Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of Maggie Bradley Prescott and the late Ben Brown. Ms. Brown was a retired dietician at Hopewell Healthcare Center. Surviving are one son, Joseph Brown of Sumter; three brothers, Bubba Prescott and Cordie Brown, both of Sumter, and Donnie Brown of Bishopville; four sisters, Judy Haselden, Earline Gainey and Brenda Boykin, all of Sumter, and Billie Tidwell of Camden; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Brown. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Nathaniel "Nat" Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 1050 Wellsborough Court.
