Birth: 1750, Ireland Death: Jan. 30, 1826 Abbeville County South Carolina, USA Native of County Antrim, Ireland, Margaret Ann Gray arrived in Charleston, South Carolina aboard the ship "Earl of Hillsborough" on 3rd of February 1767 along with her father, John Gray. There they headed to the back-country of South Carolina to land granted to them by the Royal Governor; now now as Abbeville County. Here she met and married James Devlin on 18th day of September 1767. This union produced 11 children. Both James and Margaret Devlin were charter members of Long Cane & Cedar Springs A.R.P. churches; organized in the early 1790's. Margaret Ann Devlin died on January 30th 1826 at her home just a few miles from where she now rest alongside her husband, James.
