| HIST | WENDELL THOMAS NOBLES Posted Saturday, April 4, 2020 6:00 am MOUNT CROGHAN - Wendell Thomas Nobles, age 78, entered into rest on Friday, April 3, 2020, with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, 4155 U.S. 378, Turbeville, officiated by Pastor Tommy Moser and Pastor Kevin Cribb. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Mr. Nobles was born on March 22, 1942, in Myrtle Beach, a son of the late Bud Ollin and Lorena (Allen) Nobles. An avid outdoorsman, Wendell enjoyed restoring classic cars, "tinkering" on lawnmowers and taking his grandchildren fishing. He was a mechanic by trade, but was always willing to help anyone with any problem. His greatest pastime was spending time with his family. Wendell will be fondly remembered as a man who never met a stranger and was loved by all. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nobles was also preceded in death by his former wife, Myrtle Mae Baker; brothers, David, Julian, Bud Olin, Bonnie and Elmond Nobles; sister, Doris Causey; and beloved stepson, Larry Allen Tarte. Survivors include his children, Robin Nobles (Jeff) Rollins of Jefferson, Tammy (Freddie) Collins of Sumter and Barbara (Shawn) Coffey of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Freeman, Mikey (Cortney) Freeman, Cody (Savannah) Collins, Devin Collins, Shawn Coffey and Kendall Collins (Brandon) Wiggins; great-grandchildren, Emma Freeman, Ava Freeman, Dawson Collins, MaHailey Freeman, MaHarleigh Freeman, MaKenlee Freeman, Hannah Padgett and Cam Padgett; sisters, Kathleen (Enoch) Dix of Myrtle Beach and Maude (William) Adams of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
