| HIST | INA J. PETTIGREW Posted Sunday, August 20, 2017 6:00 am Ina Jeannine Woodhams Pettigrew, 87, wife of Robert Sanders Pettigrew Jr., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. Born Sept. 17, 1929, in Denver, Colorado, she was a daughter of the late George Henry Woodhams and the late Hazel Mercedes Lucas Woodhams. God has called home a cherished wife and mother. She will be eternally missed. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 70 years; five children, Charline Burger of Dalton, Georgia, David Pettigrew (Jenny) of Lexington, North Carolina, Linda Irick (Phillip) of North Myrtle Beach, Babette Meadows (Thomas) of Sumter and Brantley Pettigrew of Nipomo, California; six grandchildren, Christian Amos, Rebecca Rhea, Frances Storey, Lorie Joy, Lee Burger and Wesley Burger; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Ashley Pettigrew. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence, with the Rev. Dr. David E. Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
