She was born in Camden the daughter of Henrietta Peavy Smith and the late Clifton Smith. She loved her spending time and enjoying her family. Surviving are her mother of Hartsville; her husband of 17 years, Dan Askins, Jr, Hartsville; children, Taylor (Stacy) Lail, Bethlehem, NC, Becky (Jeff) Weaver, Hartsville, Dan (Susan) Askins, III, Hartsville, Kirk (Meredith) Askins, Hartsville; eight grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Lett) Carroll, Camden; brother, Allen (Sally) Smith, Hartsville; several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Smith.
