| HIST | I don’t understand the following obituary. jkh LOU ELLA ETHRIDGE Posted Thursday, April 19, 2018 6:00 am Lou Ella Ethridge, 69, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at her home. Born on Oct. 27, 1948, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Arthur B. and Minnie Margie Barfield. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where she was one of the founders of the Lakewood Baptist Care Group. She was employed as a private caregiver for many years. Survivors include two children, Vicky Ethridge (Debra Lewis) and Tracy Ethridge (Patricia), both of Greenville; four grandchildren, Michael Charles "Chad" Avin Jr. (Amber Titus), Grant Austin Ethridge, Samuel Tracy Ethridge, Benjamin Patrick Ethridge and Rebecca Rose Ethridge; a great-granddaughter, Norah Dreamy Avin; and two sisters, Florie Bradshaw (Dale) and Dorothy Barkley, both of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Hinson officiating. Burial will be at Greeleyville Freewill Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Lakewood Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church, 3140 Nazarene Church Road, Sumter, SC 29154. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [1] | |
