McInnis, age 83, beloved husband of 60 years to the late Frances Mincey McInnis, died on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the home of his daughter. Born on Dec. 23, 1937, in Buckatunna, Mississippi, he was a son of the late John Mack McInnis and Elzadie Heathcock McInnis. Mr. McInnis served in the U.S. Air Force and Army Reserve and later retired from Cooper Tools. He was the former pastor of Flat Branch Baptist Church in Clara, Mississippi. He loved playing the harmonica and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition, he loved teaching his grandchildren the "Indian Dance." Mr. McInnis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by three daughters, Anita Neville (Mike Craft) and Vanessa McInnis (Tom), both of Sumter, and Linda Squires of Pinewood; a special daughter, Shiny Chan of Malaysia; a special son-in-law, Larry Squires of Sumter; two brothers, John Edward McInnis (Jan) and J.B. McInnis (Joann) of Stateline, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Neville, Jason Neville, Matthew Neville, Katie Neville, Doc Caines, Eric Caines, Nathan Caines, Amanda McInnis, Emily Broach and Lee Squires; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Walter Shannon; three sisters, Allene Davis, Lottie Crager and Eunice Oxford; three brothers, Clarence McInnis, Clyde McInnis and Joe McInnis; and one grandson, Josh Neville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Bullock Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
