Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late James "Jim" Rayvelle Strange Sr. and Betty Ann Nichols Strange. Pete was a free-spirited, hardworking man with a great sense of humor. Pete was an avid NASCAR fan and raced at Sumter Speedway in car 24. His true joy in life came from spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by a son, Michael Strange (Kimberly) of Morrisville, North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Tiffany (Michael) Barrs of Sumter; a brother, Kevin Strange (Sandra) of Sumter; a sister, Donna Strange of Pelion; six grandchildren, Brennah Craig, Beth Strange, Jaidyn Strange, Devin Barrs, Taylor Barrs and Riley Jade Barrs; and three great-grandchildren.
