| HIST | ELIZABETH ROSE WILLIAMS Posted Tuesday, November 1, 2022 6:00 am GREENVILLE - Elizabeth Rose Williams, 21, died on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of Barney Whitworth Williams and Margaret Martin Nordeen. Miss Williams was affiliated with First Presbyterian Church and St. Paul's Anglican Church, both in Greenville. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and was currently a junior at Clemson University, where she was a member of Tri Delta Sorority. Liz was a young lady of tremendous courage and she was amazing in the way she continued her strength through high school and two years of college while fighting a five-year battle with cancer. She lived her life to the fullest day by day. Surviving are her mother and stepfather, John Nordeen; her father; two brothers, Barney Whitworth Williams and Austin Law Williams; maternal grandparents, Dorothy Law Martin and John J. Martin; paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Barney L. Williams Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and step-siblings. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Sumter Cemetery and also a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Greenville with the Rev. Thomas C. Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.sumterfunerals.com.
