| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina EDITH KNIGHT RICKARD Posted Thursday, December 26, 2024 1:30 pm Edith “Ann” Knight Rickard, 72, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 6, 1952, in Sumter, she was the daughter of Edith Maxine Knight Lloyd and the late James Warren Knight. She was a devoted member of Crosswell Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities including mission friends, Awana, hostess committee and choir. She retired from Sumter Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. To know her was to love her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her two fur babies, Mollie and Bella. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Glenn Warner “Pete” Rickard; two sons, Robbie Rickard (Suzanne) and Kevin Rickard (Angie); her mother, Maxine Knight Lloyd; mother-in-law, Betty Rickard; four grandchildren, Zachary Rickard (Madison), Aubrey Rickard Holladay (Jordan), Baileigh Rickard Wooten (Cameron) and Harrison Rickard; a great-granddaughter, Mallory Rickard; and a brother, Mike Knight (Ann). In addition to her father, James Warren Knight, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Mary Carnes, and father-in-law, Dewey Rickard. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024 at Crosswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derrick Mims, Cole Huling, Brooks Shumake, Mike Waddell, Eddie Baker and Bobby Rickard. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Rickard, Harrison Rickard, Cameron Wooten, Norman Felder, Mike Rickard, Billy Rickard, Whit Newman and Heath Griffin. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, in the fellowship hall at Crosswell Baptist Church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Crosswell Baptist Church, P.O. Box 98, Sumter, SC 29150. The family would like to extend a special thank you to MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, Amedisys Hospice, Prisma Radiology, Dr. Andrew Reynolds and the many prayers and support from friends and family.
