SALLIE MAE G. BARKLEY
Sallie Mae Galloway Barkley, 84, widow of Henry Delbert Barkley, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at her home.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Elease Ward Galloway. Mrs. Barkley attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, North Congregation, and was baptized on April 6, 1952, in Columbia.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley B. Brewer of Sumter, Wanda Sue Windham (Butch) of Hartsville, Patricia Ann Gaines of Hopkins and Fern Elaine Clemons (Richard) of Lexington; a sister, Margie Geddings (George) of Sumter; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Eugene Barkley; seven brothers and sisters; and nine half-brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, North Congregation, U.S. 521 North, with Victor Jackson and J.B. Harper officiating.
