The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association, South Carolina Chapter, P.O. Box 280, Charleston, SC 29402. Mr. Hatchell was born January 2, 1933 in Hannah, SC, and passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was a son of the late Ollie H. Hatchell and Delta Stone Hatchell. Mr. Hatchell served in the United States Air Force. He was a Mason and a member of Dutch Fork Lodge 402. Mr. Hatchell was an avid Gamecock fan and golfer. Mr. Hatchell was retired parts manager with Pioneer Machinery. Mr. Hatchell is survived by his wife, Joan Hatchell of Columbia, SC; son, Steve (Lynne) Hatchell of Lexington, SC; daughter, Caroline Hatchell of Columbia, SC; brother, Dave (Jean) Hatchell of Chapin, SC; sisters, Zuline Windle of Northport, AL, and Mattie Lou Bradford of Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren, Matt and Carlee Hatchell of Lexington, SC.
