GEORGE — Rosa Lee Carson Nettles, 93 of 1187 Quaker Road, St. George, widow of L. Barney Nettles, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 8, 2010, in Jolley Acres Health Care Center, Orangeburg. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Grover United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Fields officiating. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George. Rosa Lee was born March 8, 1916, in St. George, a daughter of the late Fred Carson Sr. and and Era Catherine Jackson. She was a member of Grover United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was predeceased by three children, Oscar Nettles, Beatrice Martin and Howard Nettles, and siblings, Quilly Carson, Fred Carson Jr., Eddie Carson and Grady Carson. Surviving are four sons, Herbert A. Nettles and J.D. Nettles, both of St. George, Mack Nettles, Columbia, and Tommy Nettles, Lexington; three daughters, Sadie N. Graham, St. Mary’s, GA, Francis N. Lowder, St. George, and Doris (Jason) Nettles, Cordova; two sisters, Stella C. Nettles, Fletcher, NC, and Thelma C. Dixon, Columbus, OH; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Grover United Methodist Church, 1906 Highway 15 South, Grover, SC 29447.
