I've never known my grandfather Junius J. Brown to be called by the name Jeremy or known as Jeremy. Can you show me where that 'name' was referenced by others or ever used in documents. My Charleston phone is 843-552-6643 Jeanette Hatcher jjbrownsplantation@yahoo.com Hello Jackie, How are you?  Grandfather was Junius Jeremiah Brown.  I only questioned the name Jeremy as I've never heard anyone use that nor saw it used in any document of his or the family. BTW, the Hyman Family Reunion that we plan to attend (yes, the are many inter-related branches) will be held this year at the Mt. Elon Free Will Church next to Pamplico on Aug 2nd.  It will start right after church service.  They will provide the main food dishes and we will bring a light covered dish or refreshment drinks (plus unsweeted tea !). I think the small fee will be ~ $10 or even less.  We hope to see you there. Jackie, I think we are related together into the Hyman family group.  In the Phillip Hyman book, I see where there are many connections.  We went to this Hyman reunion before and met some more wonderful family friends.  Hope to see you there.  And we hope to make it to the Hutchinson Reunion and to the DeWitt Reunion.  Please refresh us with those dates. We're related together thru the first Joseph Jeremiah Brown Sr. who is buried in New York State (he was still held as P.O.W. from Civil War and died in 1865 just as the war ended), and his wife was Martha Ann Sweet.  Together they had baby girl that died ~before age 3, and a son Joseph Jeremiah Brown Jr. born 1863 who married Elizabeth Hyman and their first son of 14 children was Junius Jeremiah Brown, my grandfather.  Elizabeth was related to the Myers and DeWitt families and there are other cross-connections with your families line and mine. After the war ended and she learned her husband had died, Martha remarried to a family friend Simon Cooper. They all had attended Willow Creek Baptist Church and continued to do so. Together they raised J.J Brown Jr. and had more children together. That J.J. Brown Jr. fathered my grandfather. They all lived on the Brown's farm place and raised  many children there    BTW, Willow Creek Baptist Church will be 200 years old this year and they still use the original building.  Big event there this year.  Another great cook out !. BTW. We still own the old home site-which we call the J.J. Brown's Plantation.  It's very near Willow Creek Baptist Church & just off North Old River Road back toward Pamplico.  The old plantation-farm is much smaller now as it was divided up between the children  over 100 years +.  Jeanette & Jim  [5, 7]
