Mr. Barkley was the owner and operator of Barkley Electric Company.  He attended Southside Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; one sister, Dorothy Hughes and husband, Billy, of Sumter; two grandchildren; and one stepson, Edward O. Johnson (Lois) of Colfax, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Johnson, the Rev. Jim Johnson and the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
