Born in Columbia, he was a son of Robert Clifton Terry Sr. and the late Mary Jennings Terry. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a self-employed contractor. Survivors include his wife; his father of Sumter; three daughters, Sara Terry, Helen Terry and Elizabeth Terry, all of the home; and two sisters, Judith Terry of Sumter and Diane Terry of Charlotte. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Ryan Pack and the Rev. Tony Metze officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 107 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150 or to the St. James Lutheran Endowment Fund, 1137 Alice Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
