DELORIS THAMES MCCOY Posted Saturday, March 12, 2022 6:00 am Deloris Thames McCoy, 80, widow of Elvin James "Red" McCoy, died on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Miles and Susie Weatherly Thames. Mrs. McCoy was a retired employee of Exide Battery Co. Surviving are a son, Mark McCoy (Beckie) of Sumter; a daughter, Patricia Norton of Sumter; nine grandchildren, Mickel, Kirk, Ashleigh, Amanda, Charlotte, Jamie, Kacie, Kristie and Shannen; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy McCoy; and three brothers, Miles Thames Jr., Julius Thames and Walter Thames. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Aaron Reed officiating.
