Posted Friday, December 16, 2022 6:00 am Donald Ray "Ducky" Craft Sr., 77, husband of Linda Geddings Craft, died on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late C.W. Craft and Annie Margaret Craft Simpson. Mr. Craft owned and operated Southern Auto Parts (NAPA) from 1976 until his retirement in 2015. He purchased his first store in North Myrtle Beach in 1976 and opened a store in Manning in 1977. In 1988, he purchased the store where he started his career in Sumter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who dedicated his life to his family. His greatest desire was for his family and friends to seek the Lord and follow His ways. Survivors include his wife of 54 years; two children, Donald R. "Donny" Craft II (Becky) of Sumter and Kimberly O'Leary Woodward (Todd) of Chapin; five grandchildren, Lilly Margaret, Eleanor, Bradley, Ava and Emmy; two brothers, Randy Craft (Cathy) of Marion and Michael Craft (Anita) of Sumter; three sisters, Lib Turner and Tammy Craft, both of Sumter, and Pam Shuler (Shot) of Elloree; two sisters-in-law, Anne Pritchard and Shirley Sainz; his two "granddoggers," Bitsy and Bella; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Carraway; and two brothers, C.W. "Mickey" Craft and Brian Keith Craft. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Wayne McElveen. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Donny and Becky Craft, 3595 Preserve Court. The family would like to express their gratitude to Tammy Tomlin and the staff of Comfort Keepers of Sumter and Tammy Craft and the staff of Prisma Health Tuomey Hospice for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided.
