JULIUS BENENHALEY
Julius Benenhaley, 88, widower of Nellie B. Benenhaley, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at a local nursing facility.
Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Randall and Mary B. Benenhaley. Mr. Benenhaley was a member of Springbank Baptist Church. He was retired from Shaw Air Force Base Civil Service and was a longtime member of the Eastover Hunting Club.
Survivors include three children, Jacqueline Benenhaley, Marvin Benenhaley and Darrel Benenhaley, all of Dalzell; a brother, Leland Benenhaley, and a sister, Mary Benenhaley, both of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Julius Benenhaley Jr.; and three brothers, Walter Benenhaley, Middleton Benenhaley and James Benenhaley.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Springbank Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Miller and Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leland Benenhaley Jr., James Benenhaley, Al Benenhaley, Robbie Benenhaley, Harold Benenhaley and Timothy McMickell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2530 Relative Road.
