| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina at death- he had additional grandchildren- who are their parents? jkh LELAND A. BENENHALEY Sr. Leland Abraham Benenhaley Sr., 85, husband of Laura B. Benenhaley, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Randall and Mary B. Benenhaley. Mr. Benenhaley was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church, where he served as a longtime deacon and was the bus driver for more than 30 years. He was formerly employed by Sumter Concrete and later retired from Glasscock Trucking Co. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; five children, Leland Benenhaley Jr. of Sumter, James Benenhaley of Sumter, Al Benenhaley (Linda) of Dalzell, Laura Floyd (Joey) of Sumter and Robert Benenhaley of Sumter; five grandchildren, Cody Floyd, Alex Floyd, Ashley Benenhaley, Robbie Odom and Becky Odom; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Benenhaley of Sumter; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Benenhaley; and four brothers, Walter Benenhaley, James Benenhaley, Julius Benenhaley and Milton Benenhaley. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Long Branch Baptist Church with Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley and the Rev. James Allen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Benenhaley, Gary Benenhaley, Cody Floyd, Alex Floyd, Burgess Oxendine and Bobby Castro. Honorary pallbearers will be the senior men's Sunday school class of Long Branch Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 645 E. Brewington Road. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Hopewell Nursing Center and Tuomey Healthcare Children's Center.
