Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Sr. and Rosa Lee Ray Benenhaley. Mrs. Jones was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Melvin Jones Jr. (Brooke); a daughter, Mandi Jones Hunter (Nolan); and two grandchildren, Chandler Hunter and Ellie Hunter. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Benenhaley Jr., Benny Benenhaley and Gene Benenhaley; and a sister, Joyce Piucci. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Sanderson and the Rev. Brian Benenhaley officiating.
