| HIST | of Dalzell, South Carolina MYRTLE BENENHALEY Posted Saturday, June 18, 2022 6:00 am Myrtle S. Amerson Benenhaley, 89, widow of Ernest R. Benenhaley, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at her home in Sumter. Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Alan Amerson and Georgia Oxendine Amerson. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Survivors include two children, Henry Allen Benenhaley and Debra Benenhaley, both of Dalzell; five grandchildren, Stephen Sanderson (Lisa) of Bishopville, Brittany Clonts (Mike) of Irmo, Danielle Pike (Derrick) of Chapin, Tonya Porter (Rob) of Clemson and Dillard Plemons of Dalzell; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Maggie, Abby, Ellisyn, Benjamin, Kyleigh, Charlotte, Mary Elizabeth, Katherine, Christian and Zachary; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cinda Benenhaley and Miriam Benenhaley Plemons; and a sister, Mabel Benenhaley. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Long Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Sanderson, the Rev. John McLeod and the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Carpenter, Mike Ray, Dean Benenhaley, Pat Buckner, George Tedder and Travis Boykin. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Springbank Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 159, Dalzell, SC 29040 or to Calvary Baptist Church, 2519 Jamestown Road, Bishopville, SC 29010. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
