LEO JAMES BERRY
MANNING – Leo James Berry, 103, widower of Louise Thompson Berry, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born July 8, 1906, in Manning, he was a son of the late John James and Mary Davis Berry. He was a retired farmer and a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Lyn Herlong and her husband, Rocky, of Manning and Deb B. Richardson and her husband, Lucien, of Summerton; a grandson, James J. and his wife, Tiffany Herlong, of Crownsville, Md.; three granddaughters, Jennifer Herlong of Sumter, Kristen Rembert and her husband, Bryan, of Summerton, and Heather Thomy and her husband, Wil, of Lake City; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Charlie Tyler and the Rev. Garland Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Herlong, Bryan Rembert, Wilson Thomy, Richard Berry, Donnie Mahoney, and Bobby Thompson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday and at other times at the residence of Lyn Herlong, 2090 Winters Hill Road, Manning.
