Born on Dec. 21, 1926, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin McLeod and Dorothy Idell McLeod. She retired from Piggly-Wiggly and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include a son, Larry Hodge (Harriett) of Sumter; a grandson, Blake Hodge (Ashley) of Varnville; a great-grandson, Trace Hodge of Varnville; two sisters, Doris Windham and Audrey McLeod, both of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Hodge; a sister, Kathleen McLeod; and two brothers, Burt McLeod and John McLeod. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Brewington Cemetery with Bishop Randy Rhodes officiating. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nieces that helped with the care of Mrs. Hodge. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
