Morris, 67, husband of Mary Lee Welch Morris, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Guy H. Morris and the late Eloise Wingate Morris. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Rembert. Survivors include his wife of Bishopville; a daughter, Mary Ann Hornsby (James) of Bishopville; two sons, Charles E. Morris Jr. of Sumter and William L. Morris (Dale) of Bishopville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Chapel with the Rev. Eugene McCallister officiating. Burial will be in the Piedmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home.
