| HIST | Sandra S. Fender Sandra Singleton Fender, age 64, beloved wife of James Edwin Fender, died on Monday, May 20, 2013, at her residence. Born Oct. 14, 1947, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Mortimer Singleton and wife Hattie Owens Singleton. Mrs. Fender enjoyed the outdoors, especially her weekend visits to the lake. She loved to grow flowers and had a house full of green plants. She loved spending time with her family and most of all her time with her grandchildren. “Momma loved her Gamecocks, Go Cocks.” She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She leaves cherished memories and will be sadly missed by her husband, James Ed Fender; three sons, Winston Jewell Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, Cayce Jewell and Andrew “A.J.” Jewell and his wife, Kim; three daughters, Angie Jewell Morningstar, Felicia Jewell McClellan and her husband, Tom, and Kandy Stamps and her husband, David; two brothers, Roger “Duke” Singleton and his wife, Judy, and Kenneth Singleton and his wife, Ardis; and eight grandchildren, Haley Jewell, Marcus Morningstar, Kody Morningstar, Jackie Morningstar, Jakob Fricke, Michael McClellan, Brianna Stamps and Daniel Stamps. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fender was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Bette Singleton. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating. Active pallbearers will be Glenn Alessandro, John Keffer, Kody Morningstar, Marcus Morningstar, Billy Singleton, Chris Singleton, Roger Singleton and Mike Watcher. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
