CARLISLE BEARD
Carlisle Beard, 80, husband of Rozine Brown Beard, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the Augusta Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga.
Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late John and Polly Welch Beard. Mr. Beard was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired self-employed painter. He was twice married, first to the late Dorothy Brown Beard.
Surviving are his wife, Rozine Brown Beard of Sumter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
