Born in Sumter, he was a son of Elizabeth DuBose Brogdon and the late Frederick Earle Brogdon Sr. Mr. Brogdon was president of Sumter Machinery Co. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He attended Presbyterian College and the University of South Carolina. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; his mother of Sumter; a daughter, Katherine Stewart Brogdon and a son, Edward DuBose Brogdon Jr., of the home; a brother, Dr. Fred Brogdon Jr. and wife Laura of Sumter; a niece, Meg Hill of Sumter; and a nephew, Tripp Brogdon. Burial will be private in Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Zane Moore and the Rev. Mike McGehee officiating.  [2, 4]
