Born Feb. 5, 1952, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Claude Bradley Newman Sr. and Jeanette Brown Newman. He retired from CNA Construction and TCO Construction. He was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Benjamin Newman, Robert Thomas Newman and William Thomas Newman Jr. (Brianne); grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Yates, T, Robinson, Chandler, Lara, Olivia, Tanner and Elena; a brother, Claude Bradley Newman Jr. (Faye) of Sumter; two sisters, Judy N. Lasseigne (Larry) and Betty Jean Dondero, all of Sumter; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Helen Newman. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Concord Presbyterian Church cemetery with the Rev. Mike Lowder officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church, 3500 E. Brewington Road, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [3, 6]
