Born in Dalzell, she was a daughter of the late Annie Mae Oxendine. Mrs. Oxendine was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church and a lifelong attendee of the Salvation Army Church. She was a lab technician at Continental Tire Co. Surviving are a son, Justin Hurst (Courtney); two daughters, Toni Hurst (Nick) and Karen Kolb (Jason); seven grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Oxendine; three sisters, Sherry Oxendine, Luann O. Holliday and Mandy Oxendine; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Roxy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hurst; a son, Kevin M. Hurst; and two brothers, Ronnie Oxendine and Scottie Oxendine. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Home with Neal Welch and Ralph Oxendine officiating. Burial will be at Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daren A. Holliday Jr., Shane Oxendine, Dillon Chapman, Luke Chapman, Landon Jeffreys and Jaka Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Toby Oxendine and Michael McCoy. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 2229, Sumter, SC 29151.
