SLEMMER Estelle Thomas Slemmer, 90, widow of Harrell Thomas Sr., died Sunday, November 30, 2008, at a local nursing facility. Born in Mullins, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Richardson and the late Melinda Cook Richardson. She attended Smithville Evangelical Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Harrell Thomas Jr. of Sumter. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lula Richardson, Dora Richardson and Minnie Richardson; and seven brothers, Charlie Richardson, Raymond Richardson, Henry Richardson, Tom Richardson, Dick Richardson, J.T. Richardson and Eddie Richardson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Freddie Gaymon officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
