| HIST | at death- she had 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren NADINE E. GEDDINGS Nadine E. Geddings, 79, widow of Samuel M. "S.M." Geddings, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Herbert S. Dantzler and Edith R. Lowder Dantzler. Survivors include three children, Gloria G. Jenkins of Sumter, Phillip K. Geddings (Darlene) of Sumter, and Pamela L. Money (Glenn) of Sumter; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Harold B. Geddings and Stanley M. Geddings; a sister, Gloria G. Bevins; and two grandchildren, Laney B. Bickley and Troy D. Turner. Mrs. Geddings was past president and treasurer of the Palmetto Singles. She served as secretary and treasurer of the Bethel Extension Homemakers Club and secretary of Sumter County Extension Homemakers Club. She was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxillary, the Shepherd Center, the Bethel Seniors and the Ester-Naomi Sunday School Class at Bethel Baptist Church, where she served as assistant secretary and served on the Social Committee. She retired from Pioneer Dress LTD and the Daisy Shop. Mrs. Geddings was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She lived a long and happy life was loved and will be missed by everybody. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Steven L. Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
