ELEANOR R. PRESCOTT
GABLE -- Eleanor R. Prescott, 76, widow of Leonard H. Prescott, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Stokes Rogers. Mrs. Prescott was a member of Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church. She was retired from Porters Grocery.
Survivors include three children, Linda Hodge (Donnie) of Sumter, Elaine Nero (Nick) of Gable and L.H. Prescott (Debra) of Gable; two grandchildren, Jay Prescott (Tracie) and Chris Prescott (Melissa); two great-grandchildren, Kasey Prescott and Karen Brewton; two brothers, Elvin Rogers (Stella) and Jennings Rogers (Sarah), both of Sumter; and two sisters, Carrie Christmas and Margaret Parker (Sammy), both of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michael Anne Holladay; three sisters, Marie Holladay, Dolly Brabham and Bessie Lee Cummings; and five brothers, Harvey Rogers, Robert Rogers, Leonard Rogers, Herbert Rogers and Ervin Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Bauknight and the Rev. Jerry Watson officiating. Burial will be in Brunson Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
