HIST	of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Elsie B. Hobbs Elsie Bethea Hobbs, 78, widow of Donald Hobbs, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at a local nursing facility. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Dewey Bert Bethea and Nettie Dial Bethea. Mrs. Hobbs was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Floree Bethea and Helen Bethea, both of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Hobbs; two brothers, William Admon Bethea Sr. and Dewey Leonard Bethea Sr.; and one sister, Mellie Bethea. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
