The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Walter Degnan, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hilton Poole and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack F. Degnan, all of Sumter. She graduated from the University of South Carolina. She is employed by Southern Risk. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. David Hastings Dinkins Sr., formerly of Sumter, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Clarence Holladay Sr. of Summerton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brownfield Dinkins of Sumter. He graduated from the University of South Carolina. He is employed by Ferguson Waterworks. The bridegroom's father officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Gertrude Lyons, organist; Jeremy Hansard, pianist; Don Hansen, vocalist; and Heather Matthews, violinist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory, strapless gown adorned with a champagne sash. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of lilies and roses. Gretchen Caroline Degnan served as maid of honor, with Holly Dinkins Williamson as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Anne Porcher Boggs, Kimberly Jane Cox, Christina Irene Cox, Kristen Dinkins Sill, McRae Reyling Smith, Katie Louise Veatch and Barbara Haynie Wharton. Breanna Touchberry Bradham served as flower girl. John Robert Dinkins served as best man. Groomsmen were Benjamin Scott Dinkins, Kendrick John Elmore, Tobias Meury, Patrick McClintock Sanders, Robert Bradford Scott, Jonathan Mark Sill, Brandon Carlisle Wharton and Stephen Epps Williamson. Andrew George Poole served as usher. The bride's parents held the reception at the Parish Hall of the Church of the Holy Comforter.
