Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Vermelle Grooms Singleton. Surviving are her husband of Sumter; three daughters, Melissa Avins (Jay) and Crystal Monahan (Lee), both of Sumter, and Jamie DuBose of Columbia; a sister, Angie Wixey of Sumter; a brother, Robbie Singleton of Sumter; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Singleton; and a sister, Debbie Montalbano. Mrs. DuBose retired from Sumter School District 17 as a benefits administrator. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating. Memorials may be made to New Calvary Baptist Church, 110 Boulevard Road, Sumter, SC 29150 or to Amedisys Hospice, 198 E. Wesmark Blvd., Suite 2, Sumter, SC 29150.
