| HIST | James T. Hamm SUMTER - James T. Hamm, age 75, beloved husband of 44 years to Eva M. Hilton Hamm, died on Monday, March 15, 2010, in Tuomey Regional Medical Center. He was born in Sumter, a son of the late Ryan Tillman Hamm and Esther Elizabeth Bates Hamm. He retired from the U.S. Army and served briefly in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He later retired from Wally's Hardware. He loved sports, collecting coins, and was a very loving husband and a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one brother, Samuel Hamm of Sumter; one nephew, Ralph W. "Shot" McLendon; three nieces, Sherian McLendon, Cindy L. Gee and Julia Gee. He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Nellie Gee and Isabelle McLendon; and one nephew, Michael McLendon. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Charles Clanton officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the military. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Alton Jordan, Dr. Wes Jacocks and Roger Bolin, Lewis Lowe, Jeff Peters and Charles Roberts. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association , Memorial and Tributes, P.O.
