She is a registered nurse employed by Tuomey Healthcare System in the intensive care unit. The bridegroom is the son of James A. and Jeanette B. Beatson of Sumter, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover Kenneth Beatson Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ivy Dargen Beard. He graduated from Sumter High School in 1994 and Francis Marion University in 1999 with a bachelor of science in sociology. He is employed by the City of Sumter.
