- Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Linsea celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at their home in this city last Sunday, October 8th. Manley M. Linsea and Miss Laura Greenwood daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Issac Greenwood, of Rocky Glenn Kansas were married October 10, 1894, at the brides home by M.C. Newton. In the afternoon they had a family reunion with a beautiful wedding cake and gifts from their children. Mr. and Mrs. Linsea both are in very good health. Members of the family who were able to be present were. Mrs. Henry Hewes, Sharon and David, Salina; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Linsea, Mary Jane, Dixie Ruth and Anna Mae; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Linsea, Nancy Kay, Louise, Billie and Mary Dean Moore, all of this city. Mrs. Mary Crouthers and Granddaughter Joan, Salina; Mrs. Dorothy Dean, Washington D.C., Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith, Emporia and Mrs. Calvin Hewes, Salina. Staff Sgt. Henry (Pete) Linsea, now overseas was unable to attend.

Laura Jane Linsea, daughter of Issac and Amanda Greenwood was born January 22, 1879, in Mercer County Mo. She died at her home in Cottonwood Falls Kansas on October 23, 1947. In 1897 she came to Chase County which has since been her home. On October 10, 1894, she was united in marriage to M. M. Linsea at Cottonwood Falls. M .C. Newton, Probate Judge performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Linsea were the parents of ten children, three of whom precede her in death. The surviving children are: Mary Hewes, Bakersfield California, Alfred Linsea, Pittsburg, Ks., Claude Linsea, Menlow, Margaret Smith, Emporia, Dorothy Dean, Washington D.C., and Henry Linsea of Ridgecrest, California. She is also survived by her husband, four sisters, Nellie Morgan of Pittsburg, Mary Crouthers of Salina, Louise Martin of Colony, and Alice Hinkley of Pittsburg. Three brothers, George, James and Elza of Pittsburg Kansas. Mrs. Linsea was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral Services were held at the Brown Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls .
