| HIST | of Alcolu, South Carolina JAMES CROWDER FLETCHER Posted Saturday, December 21, 2019 5:00 am ALCOLU - James Crowder Fletcher, 81, widower of Iris Merle Soles Fletcher, died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Born on Dec. 27, 1937, in Gloucester, Virginia, he was a son of the late James Bennett Fletcher and Gladys German Fletcher. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a retired farmer, and a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a son, Mike Fletcher (Nancy) of Sumter; a daughter, Kim Carson (Mike) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Brianna Gibson (Blair) of Mount Pleasant, Keith Carson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Brooke Carson of Sumter; and two great-grandchildren, Hope and Luke Gibson. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at New Harmony Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Gordon K. Reed officiating. Burial will follow at DuRant-New Harmony Cemetery. Pallbearers will be men of New Harmony Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
