Born in Heidelberg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Peter Becker and Helena Hellinger Becker. Mrs. Lanava was a war bride and had an infinity for the United States, especially the South. Following the death of her husband, Joseph, she relocated from Massachusetts to South Carolina in 2002. Since then, she had been a resident of Covenant Place of Sumter. Mrs. Lavana was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Lavana is survived by her son, Gert Becker and his wife, Maria, of Dalzell. Services will be held at later date.
